CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1713

The doctor Nash recommended was Wilfred, a highly capable professional. Wilfred and Caleb were the ones who had performed surgery on Charlie. Without their skill, Charlie wouldn't have recovered so quickly.

"I'm not sick," Ben protested firmly. There was no way he would admit to having any psychological issues.

Nash's voice was calm and low. "You spent those four years in treatment, so I get why you feel this way. But like Quincy said, you can't deny how incredible Jamie is. She belongs to the world, Ben. You can't keep her locked by your side forever. Besides, you're not some overbearing CEO forcing love on her. You two haven't even been married that long. Don't let something so small turn into a real problem." Ben understood everything Nash was saying.noveldrama

But how could he explain how he felt?

It was an overwhelming mix of frustration and suffocating unease. He wanted Jamie to be brilliant and respected by the world, yet he also selfishly wished her beauty and talent were for his eyes alone.

By the end of the night, Ben was drunk.

Jamie had just returned from her business trip when she saw Nash dropping off a completely drunk Ben. Her heart immediately softened.

"Thank you so much for bringing him back, Nash."

"Don't mention it," Nash said with a slight smile. "You two need to talk things out."

Jamie instantly understood what he meant and couldn't help but laugh, though exasperation flickered in her eyes.

"This man is acting like a lovesick teenager," she muttered.

She called for the housekeeper to help get Ben upstairs. Once there, she knelt by the bed, carefully taking off his shoes and loosening his tie. Despite her exhaustion, she stayed by his side, afraid he might get sick later in the night. But out of nowhere, Ben pulled her into his arms.

He kissed her softly, his voice hoarse as he murmured, "Jamie, I love you so much. I'm terrified of losing you..."

"I know," she said, gently patting his back.

"I'm scared that others will see how amazing you are... scared you'll—"

"You silly," Jamie cut him off softly. "You're my husband, the father of

my child, and the only man I will ever wanted someone else,

love. If k

yeln

would've accepted one of the. countless offers I got over the last four years."

Some men had even promised to accept Charlie as their own, but she never considered it.

"I love you, Ben. How could I ever be with anyone else?"

Ben looked at her intently, as though trying to etch her words into his heart. "Then you'll stay by my side? Always?"

"Of course I will. I'll stay with you and Charlie. Don't overthink it. I love you."

He didn't say anything else, just held her tightly in his arms. That night, they simply stayed together, their hearts finding solace in one another.

On Nash's end, even when he went

out drinking with friends, he always kept his drinking in check. He

needed to come home and hold his baby daughter, after all. She was only a few months old, and the smell of alcohol could irritate her delicate senses.

Since her second pregnancy, Nina's sense of smell had become unusually sharp. As soon as Nash walked in, Nina's sharp nose caught the faintest scent of alcohol.

"Drinking again? Didn't you say you were done with all those social dinners?" she asked, frowning slightly.

"I did," Nash replied, calm as ever. "But this wasn't a work dinner. I was with Ben. He's stressed about having a second kid, but Jamie's focused on her career. It's got him feeling all insecure." Instead of rolling her eyes, Nina's expression softened. Only those who had truly loved someone deeply would understand how agonizing insecurity could feel.

"That's normal," she said gently.

"He'll get through it. But listen, just

because Ben wants a second kid

doesn't mean you get any ideas about a third or fourth. Two kids are plenty, and I don't have the energy for more."

"Understood," Nash said quickly.

Although the thought had crossed his mind, he respected Nina's wishes.
